Kathleen graduated with Honorable Mention from the De La Salle University-Manila where she earned her double Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Economics and Accountancy, and was awarded with Best Thesis in Accounting by E&Y / SGV & Co. in 2006 and Best Position Paper in the 3rd Asia-Pacific Young Economists Convention.
Thereafter, she passed the CPA board exam and worked as an Associate Director in the Tax Reporting and Operations Group of E&Y Philippines (SGV & Co.) where she gained significant knowledge and experience in financial statements and government taxes compliance and controls audit, tax return preparation, income tax review, and tax advisory engagements for six (6) years. She handled and led audit engagements for various multinational companies (MNCs), among of which were engaged in the following industries: 1. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
2. Call Centers / Contact Centers
3. Marketing / Advertising
7. Broadcast Communications and Entertainment
8. Real Estate
9. Wholesale / Retail / Distributorship
10. Information Technology (IT)
12. Power, Oil and Energy
17. Special Economic Zones (e.g., PEZA / BOI registered entities)
Kathleen also worked as a Director for Accounting, Tax and Payroll for more than two (2) years in a business consulting firm assisting foreign investors in starting and doing business in the Philippines. This experience further enhanced her skill and expertise in building and maintaining great client relationships, and helping clients resolve their accounting and tax issues, and identify tax-saving opportunities as a value-adding work for them.
Currently, Kathleen is the Managing Partner of her own accounting & auditing firm, Perez & Sardoncillo, Certified Public Accountants (http://www.pns-cpas.com) which started operations in May 2016. Perez & Sardoncillo, Certified Public Accountants (PnS) is a general professional partnership (GPP) accounting & auditing firm in the Philippines, which provide timely and quality accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, payroll, advisory/consulting, business registration, and audit and assurance services to start-ups, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), domestic corporations, foreign corporations such as branch and representative offices, as well as practicing independent professionals and individual business owners in the Philippines.
She is also a Resource Person at the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) which is the national association for all CPAs in the Philippines playing a big role in upholding the standards and quality of the CPA professional practice, and at the Professionals of the Future (POF) which provides the avenue, guidance, tools, techniques, network, training, seminars and certifications for the accounting professionals to be extraordinary. In addition, she was a Writer Contributor to the online publication of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP).
She was awarded in August 2016 with a Management Executive Dean's ASEAN Scholarship for a Master's degree in International Taxation and Finance in the UK.
In December 2017, Kathleen was also awarded with the Entraprofessional Award 2017 at the Philippine Tax Congress 2017 for being an inspirational leader who made a difference, and extraordinary contributions and performance in the Accounting industry. On the same event, she was a distinguished guest speaker for Taxation.
She is featured as well in the book publication "Entraprofessional Accountants 50 Stories" as the Young Accountant-Entrepreneur to Watch in 2018.
Kathleen is both a BIR-accredited CPA tax practitioner and a BOA-accredited CPA in Public Practice.
